As you are aware the Government has announced that it plans to legislate to include the NHS and other healthcare settings in the mandatory Covid-19 vaccination programme that currently applies to care homes and other CQC registered care services. This means that the mandatory vaccine will cover NHS dental practices, domiciliary care, community care and other settings. It will also apply to any pharmacy that undertakes CQC-regulated activities.
The legislation isn’t in place yet but it is likely to mirror the current regulations applying to care homes and is planned to be in place by 1st April 2022. That means you need to consider you options now and start consulting. You may need to serve up to 12 weeks’ notice on employees which means you need to start planning now.
