Anytime Fitness is a 24-hour health and fitness club. The company operates more than 3,000 franchised locations in 20 countries.
It prides itself on having a community feel and Mr Martin said the personal touch he and his staff offer their own clients – knowing names and faces and taking an interest in them – is what he appreciates about ags.
He said: “I am just approaching the 12-month anniversary of working with ags, and they are the second accountants I have worked with since taking over the franchise for my first club in Telford.
“After an initial chat with Steve Aston and Tom Plimmer I realised that it would be a pleasure to work with them, and it has.
“They deal with all my accounting, leaving me with little to do in that department but scan invoices once a month. But they do more than that. They support me in growing my business in the hope that they can grow with me. I know that I can call them for ad hoc advice and they won’t charge me for that.
“I also know that if I need them, they will be there. They care about our success. I know they will visit me at the drop of a hat: there was one occasion where I was doing something wrong and Tom got into the car and came to help.”
Like most franchise holders, Mr Martin has other commitments which take up a lot of his time – he also runs aerospace firm Comar Engineering in Wolverhampton.
He added: “ags understand that I have another job and that everything has to be time-efficient. I also like the fact they keep everything very simple and clear for me.
“There are several more Anytime Fitness clubs in the pipeline for me – it is a growing concern – and I know that by working with ags I am in safe hands in the future as well as the present.”
